Different versions of AF-540FGZ flash?

Hi all,

Went for my first browse in the Xing Guan photographic mall in Shanghai and found two sets of prices for the AF-540FGZ, some sellers had them for 2300RMB ( 330USD) and another couple had them for 3500RMB ( 500 USD). All were new in the box and seemed to have the same AF-540FGZ model on them, but box at one of the cheaper places was the older Pentax style grey, while all the others were black.

Are there two different versions of the AF-540FGZ?
Any reason not to buy the cheaper one in the new style 'Black' box?

The standard price in US in US$320. And it came with the black box for a number of years already. All should be made in Japan.

Not sure about the grey box one, it could be pretty old.
