Pbase is mighty slow again .
I informed them about it by email.
According to them everything is fine.

Just wonder : is it PBase or is it my computer?
Anyone else having problems with PBase at the moment ?

But it seems to be cleared up now. It is possible their servers were OK, but there was trouble along one of the trunks their stuff carries on.

[shrug] It's moot, now.

It was slow for about a day or so, now it seems to be doing much better.

if it was your computer, everything else would be slow.

For me, pbase is still dragging it's heels while every other site loads up instantly.

Could be your connection?

Steven
It could be but it's not, my connection has been solid from the get-go. I just got on after being off for an hour and Pbase is now considerably faster (but somewhat inconsistent in spite of working faster). The area that was REALLY slow earlier today occurred during editing either a gallery or an image.

But anyway, thanks for your thought.

Yes - here in Alabama - @12:15 am CST, it took so long to load 3 images, I thought I was back on dial-up. So, I gave up for now . . .

I've been a Pbase subscriber for the past several years. I've had it. The performance problems have gotten much worse, and much more frequent, in the past few months. Some features, like statistics, seem to be broken more often than they are available. The quality of service is simply unacceptable. I'm willing to tolerate some occasional glitches that affect service, but with Pbase, poor quality of service has become standard. I have four months left on my current subscription -- then I'm off to another provider.

Was a PBase supporter for years and finally wised up and switched to Zenfolio and couldn't be happier. More levels of service but the starting price is the same as for PBase. Try it you might like it. No ability to leave comments but that is coming soon.

If it were only this isolated networking incident, I wouldn't be leaving. It's months, years really, of inconsistent performance, and sporadic problems/outages. I've lost confidence in Pbase. They either don't have adequate funding, IT administration skills or perhaps a little of both to manage this service. I no longer have any faith that things are going to improve in the short- or long-term future.

bye! don;t let the door hit you in the .... on the way out.

Most slowdown are network related. Mostly ISP overloads. To blame pbase is childish. In five years I have never seen a major pbase slowdown even when people are complaining. I go check and pbase itself is fine.
