Which brand would you recommend? I hear Lexar is good, but Scandisk is better? What about Transcend?

Scandisk is an application built into Windows! SanDisk is the memory card!

Any name brand will do you fine. SanDisk, Lexar, Kingston no issues with any of them.

I wouldn't use a Kingston card if you gave me one. I probably wouldn't use a Kingston card if you paid me to use one, unless it was a very lot of money (even I have some limits), but I'd still voice my opinion on problems using them, even if they wanted to pay me.

Some of the kingston cards have compatibility with a number of camera models, including the latest Sony DSLR-A200 (testing much slower than other similar cards), and some of the older konica Minolta models (with even standard speed cards testing faster than much higher speed Kingston cards).

Some of the Kodak DSLR models have compatibility with some of the Kingston cards, too. Even the Canon S1 IS had issues with some of the Kingston cards until they figured out a way to help with this issue via a firmware upgrade.

Kinsgton is at the very top of my avoid list for memory cards, and I would never recommend them to someone.

I have 2 Kingston cards (of their top line, not the consumer line) and they work fine.

No problems in going on 3 years, 3 years in which I've had to replace one Sandisk CF card and 2 Sandisk USB sticks (all without hassle, Sandisk warranty replacements are quick and easy).

Of course I do own quite a lot more Sandisk gear than Kingston so the ratio of failures isn't a fair one :)
