This was taken right before a big downpoor. You know how part of the sky will get real dark. I was driving down the street and noticed the scene, jumped out (which I often do) and took the picture. I love the pictures you can get right before and after a storm.

The picture is pretty close to the original. The only thing I changed was hue/sat, levels.

To me it came out looking more like a painting than picture. Just the right combination of light and focus (or out of focus).

Did you do anything to this photo as in post editing ?
After a few feet it kinda looks like and oil painting.

No. The only thing I did post production wise was hue/sat, levels, and unsharpen mask. Other than that it is the original. I think the same thing and everyone I show it asks the same thing.

great shot..almost look surrealistic. Are those tracks still in use? they look awfully shaky...

I really like that. I have been looking for a similair scene for a while. It's the way the tracks are so delapitated and your heading into the storm that gives it a story to tell. Nice lighting and colour as well.

Brian,

Thanks. It was a lucky shot. I had been wanting to get a railroad track picture as soon as I got a Digital but could never find one that looked right. They remind me of old time travel. The only thing that could have made this better was if a Hobo was on the side by a campfire. This one fell into my lap. RPRT (Right Place Right Time).

I don't know if anyone else had the same problem, but the picture seemed to be saved in too large a size with too much JPEG compression. I like storm pics also, but I couldn't get the full effect because if it's size.
