Epson C80

It's won a lot of Best Printer type awards and for good reason: fast text printer, good photo printer on various types of media, and pigment ink. That said, it's really designed as a business printer not a photo printer. I like the photos, better than those put out by the Epson six color printers, but you have to go to at least 1440, and this really slows things down.

You can find a very good and review at http://www.tssphoto.com .
Has anybody used the Epson C80 printer. I'm thinking of getting one
but have seen no samples of what it can do.

I have had the C80 for about a month and really like the photo output on a paper I'm getting to love, the Epson heavy matte archive. Printer does not print good on glossy paper from my experience because the pigment type ink tends to look like it's laying on the surface giving it an unnatural look. The more ink coverage the duller the area prints, kind of like the image is "plated". But I love the printer as the images should last a long time before any fading starts because of the Dura brite inks. It is definately a photo quality printer. Just make sure high speed is off and use 1440 dpi. Takes about 10 minutes to print an 8x10 photo but for day to day office type orinting it is rapid.

I've had a C80 for a few months. After a bit of tweaking the printer driver I get astonishing results on Epson Archival Matte paper, the one paper Epson claims will give 70+ years fade resistance. Somewhere on the Epson site there is a link to a technical brief on Durabrite ink.

I have one that I used for 1 week. I'll sell it for $110 delivered in the USA only. It is the Dell black version.

I've had the C80 for about six months and agree with all the previous posts. If you want a printer to do mostly photos you want something different as with the C80 you are limited to the matte heavyweight paper and it takes a long time to print. I'm going to use my C80 for everyday printing and have a Canon S9000 on order for photo printing.
