How big is A3+

Epson Super A3 papers (A3+ I presume) are:

13"x19" or 329x483mm

Regular A3:

11.7"x16.5" or 297x420mm

...and from the Canon S9000 User Manual:

Size_ Printable Area (width x height)
A3+ (13"×19") 12.7 × 18.7 in. / 322.2 × 475.0 mm
A3_ 11.4 × 16.2 in. / 290.2 × 412.0 mm
Ledger (11"×17")
10.7 × 16.7 in. / 272.6 × 423.8 mm
B4
9.9 × 14.0 in. / 250.2 × 356.0 mm
A4
8.0 × 11.4 in. / 203.2 × 289.0 mm
B5
6.9 × 9.8 in. / 175.2 × 249.0 mm
A5
5.6 × 7.9 in. / 141.2 × 202.0 mm
4" × 6"
3.7 × 5.7 in. / 94.8 × 144.4 mm

This refers to non-borderless printing. For borderless printing, the print area extends to the edges (obviously) on all but A3+. I think that the printer is not physically able to reach the full 13" (the 19" is physically possible).

For a thorough guide to metric (ISO) and US paper sizes, see:
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-paper.html

It appears that 'A3+' isn't a standard ISO paper size, so maybe the printer vendors invented it.

How do you get frames for A3+ size? I've found it difficult to find anything except custom made frames.

Any ideas??

cheers Dave S

Dug up a 12 year old thread.... good for you!
It's still an issue.

After several days search finding everything but that size, I did find local stock of 12x18 pre-cut matt (16x22 overall) frames yesterday, reasonable quality painted timber finish, subtle canvas texture white mat. Of course they aren't gallery quality - but they're not bad, although a 2" border is a bit small in my opinion for that sized print.

For David above, they were an Aussie branded product (made in China of course) from http://www.ur1.com/t-aboutus.aspx . Local (NZ) retail price was about 1/2 list price on that website.

They should be good for a3+, as you'd normally (but not always) want to print slightly larger than the cutout in the mat, but for the life of your printer, shouldn't be routinely printing borderless, and 19x13" would require cropping for a 3:2 format image anyway.

I do have a mat cutter etc, but TBH I'm not good enough to get a perfect enough result when it really matters, I can never make up my mind about mat colours, border sizes, print position etc. and end up wasting a lot of time and effort - when I should have bitten the bullet and had something professionally framed.

I have had no problems. I have sold over 100 of these framed prints. I cut my own mats to 18 X 24, this gives the A3+ prints a 2.5 inch mat around the print which looks good with this size of print. I have no problems finding 18 X 24 inch frames. Take a look at the Hobby Lobby store. Good luck.

The dimensions of A3+ aren't actually officially designated in the ISO standardized system. It is often 13" x 19" or 329mm x 483mm. However it can vary by manufacturer and no doubt another poster will come up with another assessment of it. I think this variation must be because A3 is more standardized. Here's a source that verifies this- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size.

It is right there in th4e Wikipedia article under Photographic Paper Sizes, near the bottom of the article:

A3+, Super B = 13" x 19"
