CAmerworld £799
Warehouseexpress £929

but Warehouse express offer to give you 125% of any difference and cameraworld is one of their recognised comparison dealers

hence £766-50p + £7-95 postage and £100 cashback from Sony till end of the month

I can't see anything about cashback on the warehouse express web site are you sure it will be possible to claim it?

I thought Sony had finished the cashback offer. I wonder if you purchase it under the promise of cashback that the retailer would honour that mistake?

Well, I've enquired/applied, but noticed in the Warehouse Express small print their Price Promise excludes "special offers" and the Camerworld site has a nice flashing Sale image in the A700 body description. So I'm not going to be holding my breath ...

Thanks for suggesting it though, it will be great if it does work.

Cheers,
Rob.

From the minds of Minolta to the imagination of Sony, Alpha, like no other.

Well I'm here ! I still have some doubts about the A700 so these prices would not make such a big difference to my decisions. I still feel that the EU model without grip sensors should be cheaper than the US model . I had decided to was wait for the 'A900' which until recently was scheduled for PMA. The fact that the Flagship is now said to include LV is another complication. I am not opposed to LV but would need to see how well it works & if any compromises have to be made. Another complication is if Sony decided to upgrade the 700 & improved it !!

It is possible that if the A700's price dropped more I might be persuaded to change my mind but at the moment I am content to sit on the fence & see how the A350 et AL work out. I know that the A700 is better than my KM 5D but for most purposes the 5D is OK . You will gather that I don't rush into things !

i spoke to camera world- and they said they should have more next week - and the cash back is extended to end of march so i should get a 0% credit card by then.... he also mentioned that the a900 is going to be about £1800, not sure how he knows but im sure he has more info than me....

Anyway he seemed more informed than anyone ive spoken to at jessops.
