I just got my E-20 last week, and love it so far. But I would like to have a tele lens for it.
How does the TCON brace fit on the camera?

Would I have to remove my quick release tripos attachment to put it on? Is there any vignetting if your add a polarizer?

T-con 14 screws onto existing lense, no need to remove tripod mound. There is no zoom left. You will use it as a fixed focal lenght lens.

The T-con 300 mounts using a bracket, that you will have to remove the tripod mount for. The Bracket then has it's own tripod mount location to better balance the camera. Again, there is no zoom left. If you have a Lipo grip, you will need to purchase a different bracket to mount the 300, but all above remains the same.

You can also mount the 14 in front of the 300 with a step up ring to achiive a 600mm + - equiv. lense. That actuall works very well.

I have them both and have used them together and seperatley some, if you have any further questions. let me know

Can a polarizer be added to the 300 TCON without vignetting at its longest focal length?

I'm selling mine (including the step up ring for the Tcon 14B) if you're interested. And yes, cir-polar won't affect the Tcon 300.

Ruth,
Here is some info on the TCON 300
http://davidweikel.com/E10_samples/tcon300/tcon1.shtml

Jaja has some good info on both the TCON 300 and 14B too
http://www.belgiumdigital.com/

I'll be posting some more info on the 14B in the studio (head and sholders shots) in the next few weeks.

Good luck, Dave

Normally, yes. However, if you're at all handy, you can fix that.

I'm in the process of modifying my support arm so I can use it with a Manfrotto/Bogen 3270 QR. I've modified a QR mount with two locator holes, so it mounts on the arm where the camera would normally go. Next, I made a compatible camera mount.

Now I have to make a block to raise the TCON-300 off the support arm by 0.775". That will also require taking the thumbscrew plate off and using a longer bolt to attach the lens. I'm planning to use oak for this. (I don't feel like subjecting my poor table saw to 3/4" of aluminum!)

You can add whatever you want to the end of the TCON-300. It has standard 49mm lenses -- same as many Zuiko lenses! :-)

You can't really add anything between the Exx and the TCON-300.

Okay -- finished my mod, and it works great! I'll post photos tomorrow.

Also, I have some left-over material. Anyone interested in a QR kit for the TCON-300? This is not a solicitation to sell a product; just want to help out fellow Oly users.
