Canon Pixma Pro9500 - Tips, News and Notes.

yes I have, I really did not see to much of a difference between it and the canon plus glossy II, other than it being slightly thicker. too glossy for my taste. my favorite paper is Ilford Gold Fiber Silk. which is a Bartya based paper. It is absolutely stunning with this printer. and for matte I really like Moab entrada rag, and there kayenta is almost as good at a slightly lower cost.

Platinum vs. Glossy 2 is simple. Glossy shows saturation more, especially blues. That is because Platinum is more 'white' than off white (which adds the saturation). It is also a brighter paper. More details can be seen in the shadows. It is a thicker stock. These are the key differences. Unfortunately, getting data on longevity or anything else for the 9500 is impossible to find. Canon does a great job promoting the Platinum with the 9000 on the their web site but very little for the 9500. Someone told me it is cause they are working out issues with Platinum's swellable paper and pigment inks. I personally preferred the Glossy 2 because of the saturation factor. Platinum lacked pop. I only use the Platinum if I am trying to make a scene brighter. Hope this helps!
