I believe the other thread indicated $600 cheaper (300 Euros or
Pounds cheaper, I don't recall).
Bill
That would make the K20D ridiculously priced at $849.I believe the Samsung will be 300.00 Euros less monies, or just under
450.00 USD less than the K20D. Somebody please correct me if I'm
wrong!
K20D = 899.00 Euros Body OnlyThat would make the K20D ridiculously priced at $849.

"When announced on 24 January Pentax stated that the
14.6-million-pixel K20D will cost £999.99 with an 18-55mm lens. The
Samsung GX-20 – also featuring a 14.6MP CMOS imaging sensor – will
debut at £699.99 with an 18-55mm lens – that's £300 less. The Samsung
model is also due to be available in March."
Isn't that the British pound symbol and not the Euro? If so, this
would put the GX around $1300....same as the K20D
999 pounds = $1962
300 pounds = $589
999-300=699 pounds = $1373, which is about where this camera price
has been since its announcement

That's what I paid for my K10D when it was the "newest thing". If it was priced any more than that, I would have never been able to afford it.That would make the K20D ridiculously priced at $849.
The difference between genius and LBA is that genius has its
limits.

I would say the K20D is £300 dearer than its $1399 US sibling.
Also at the moment the pound is very high against the dollar - it was
falling but recent rate cuts by fed seem to halted that for time
being - it has also been loosing ground against the Yen - so the
companies will need to price accordingly
(we'd be unhappy if prices fluctuated too much based on exchange rates)

What makes you believe this - Samsung increasingly provide a large mount of the "internals" for the Pentax models, they're probably better placed than Pentax to carry out most repairs !!Prices will drop/raise....
Also, how about Samsung service???
I drop my Pentax gear at the photostore and they ship directly to
Pentax.....
I guess the Samsung must be sent to Samsung who has to send it to
Pentax who does the repairs who sends it back to Samsung who sends it
to your store
