Some Misc. Plays for the weekend

...this is still garbage compared to a true smudger. As I said before, I'm a simulator. I leave the true artwork to Carrie, Allen, Scott, David, and yourself among many of the other talented folk here (apologies if I missed a name, but I did add "other talented folk" to cover my behind. lol). :)

Stick to this one and work on it. I would seriously take this shot and put a few hours into it and show us what you can do with some time.

If you don't mind what is the workflow for this.

Thanks, Fred

In GIMP, I first ran USM (haloing allowed; high sharpness is desired). I then ran the GREYCStoration filter (I adjused the sliders per below; almost always use these settings for fake smudge). After the above, the nuances are a little more interactive, mainly I use AAA's (8bf.net) Fotofix filter (almost always use this filter on every rendering I do; fantastic and free) to adjust the sharpness, tones, and saturation to my liking (add a tinge more red in this case) and voila. Simple for Herrings and furry pets; more complex if the subject is a person. :)

Thanks RayGuselli!
You did a good job too, especially the background.

Do you use bicubic sharper for resize? (Or was a bit strong sharpen)
I think bicubic sharper is a bit strong and creates halos/jagged edges.
See the girl jagged edges, I do this a lot of times too :)

I knew this shot would have a great look done right and man you
nailed it!
This is for sure a classic. I have others of her. She has such a
classic look.
Check your email Pictus. This one Rocks........and Rolls
Thanks, Fred
Glad you like it!

She is very lovely and her physiognomy(I am not sure if it is the right English word) was very funny :)
The photo was top notch as always.
I will check my e-mail.

hanks again Pictus. This one captures her with the look she had when she was younger. She is older now and none of us can beat time but some of us are lucky enough to enter each birthday with keeping some of our beauty of yesterday.

You turned back the clock a bit without taking away the way she looks now.

She has the beauty of her younger yesterday but still the look of her as you would see her on the street from a small distance. When people attempt this they sometimes go to far with the Glam and it doesn't look like them. I feel you did an excellent blend and I Love it!

Thanks so much Pictus.

Fred

P.S. Maggie thanks you even more!!

A time machine blended painted look, that is a tutti-fruit plus. :)
Thanks, I am very happy when the results gives satisfaction!

As I said before, a good result can be only achieved by a good photo
and the illumination you did with your wife portrait is perfect, I like that
type very much!!

Btw, your wife has plenty of beauty and stands time very well.
