New Teaser on sigma-dp1.com

I saw this covered on Digicam Watch in Japan. Apparently Sigma threw up some more teaser action on their DP1 site. "The worldwide debut, soon" Includes a "skeleton" (as they like to say in Japan) view of the camera. This update was supposedly made on the 29th at 6:30PM.

If anyone really knows outside of Sigma, they aren't telling. However the speculation (see other recent threads) seems to be that it may break at PMA.

Hello~

The original dp1 webpage was about some specs...
Now it just changed to the new teaser.
I believe in the near future,we will see the debut of the DP1.

(hope the long wating will really come to the end.)

If you turn off javascript on your browser, or use the "NoScript" in Firefox, you don't see the skeleton (because you don't see the 'slideshow' presentation), but you do see the solid camera, which looks unchanged, including the writing on the lens (16.5mm, 1:4). They might just be recycling the old picture for this particular page, though.

"Now, a dream has come true" => "Now a dream's come true"

Isn't that a concatenation? Or a conjunction? Or something valid anyway?

I hope they release it soon, could make a great daylight companion to my Ricoh GRD. I just hope they asked Ricoh for permission to "borrow" the GRD design . Would not want a lawsuit to stop the release of the camera.

Dreams = plural of Dream
Dream's = abbreviation of "Dream has" hence apostrophe

Well, aside from that the Ricoh looks much better built

I am not criticizing Sigma and at least they borrowed their design from one of the best designed cameras available. I hope the DP-1 delivers and have been looking at it since it was announced with the old design.

Vladimir, serious question: Umm, when was this GRD announced? could they have borrowed from Sigma? Remember Sigma released DP1 illustrations in late September 2006, Photokina 2006.

so I guess Ricoh copied DP1 for a sleeker look ;-)
They both have lenses in front.....

I would say they look about as similar as two different DSLRs do. There are not too many ways you can design a simple black RF-reminiscent compact camera if you want one dial on the top, a hot shoe and a popup flash. Look at the G9 also, there are also similarities, the comparable Nikon models (P5xxx) look a bit different but not really to their benefit imo.
