G2 Photo of World Trade Center light memorial

Nice shot, Mark! Where were you when you took the shot? Bayonne? I'd really like to find a good location to shoot to get the Statute in as you did.

A bit blurred because of strong wind on a shaky tripod, but a nice
view of the light memorial nevertheless -- and with a cracked G2!

JG -There's a small parking lot at the end of a pier in Bayonne designated a waterfront observation area (with signs and all). It's at the east end of Pulaski street off of Route 440 just south of the Turnpike. It's a great vantage point, but often extremely windy. The police have been closing it at 9:00pm, but they may let you slip through for 15 minutes as they've done with many other photographers. I'm sure this is where the front page AP photos seen in March 12th papers were shot from.

Good luck!

Last night was the first time I saw the lights with a good view. It gave me shivers! For my wife, it reminded her of a ghost that filed the empty void in the skyline. For me it just binges back horrible memories of watching and hearing the north tower collapse and the shock of my friends that were in the buildings and escaped. Even worries are the stories of my friends that are rescue workers.

Great photo Mark. Thanks for posting it. I collect these to keep on my desktop long after they turn out the lights in April.
