Wow, you waited 3 whole minutes. I smell a troll.

You're right. That top camera doesn't really exist, was only done in CG, and was only done to tease people into buying the A-700, which was always intended to be the last Sony camera. They just got into this business to get out of it.

I don't think you sitting here banging the fork on the table is reason for any of us to feed you information beyond that.

Forget about the Troll accusation - on a slow news day this type of question may be a valid one.

In the case of speculation about the A900 one has to examine the probabilities. Sony did display two models in the 'mock-up' showing. One , the A700 has now appeared & it is probable that the other camera shown , with a larger pentaprism, will also eventually materialise. It is also probable that a camera with a larger pentaprism would not be a lower end model.

Finally Sony should , in theory, deny the rumours which ,if they are not true, could adversely affect the sales of the A700 by encouraging wavering buyers to wait.

If you really are serious about doubting the launch of the 'A900' in 2008 how much money would you be prepared to put on it ??

Given that he has made other posts exactly like this in other threads... yeah, he is a troll...

The short version

Big news on the Sony stand is the announcement of two additions to the Alpha digital SLR range, though details are sketchy, to say the least. There are a couple of mock-up models on show, behind glass, but we're told that these are far from being close to final production designs. The two SLRs announced today are a high end amateur model that will sit above the A100 in the range (it is not a replacement for the current camera) and a professional body. Our contact at Sony couldn't give us any more detail on spec, timing or pricing, though they did confirm that only the first (the high end amateur model) will arrive this year (we're expecting to hear more in the fall). Both cameras will have new sensors (with Super Steady Shot stabilization) and enhanced Bionz processors.

Of course the high end amateur model is the A700 and the professional body is rumored to be called the A900.

Yes but to be fair the DPR statement is still only rumour & speculation with regard to the A900. 'Our Sony contact' is not the same as an official Sony press release.

Hey Nerd,

You started THREE posts all about the same thing where's the A900... Get it through you head that SONY has made NO official announcements than what you have already read about and have deemed "LAME". There is NO WAY for anyone here to show you real proof that a PRO BODY A-MOUNT camera will be avaialble in 2008, and no amount of name calling, prodding, nor MULTIPLE posts will be able to produce anything more for you.

You either believe that SONY will introduce a model in April 2008 as have already been stated NUMEROUS times, or you simply don't believe it, BUT IF you're still trying to find official proof and BAD moutn any more users that try to help you, I will hit the complain button as your current tactics are irritating at best and at worst very troll like.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THERE IS NO OFFICIAL WORD FROM SONY ABOUT PRO BODIED DSLR. WE ARE ALL ANTICIPATING SONY OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE IN APRIL 2008.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

clear enough for you now, GOOD! Go out and enjoy your pictures and stop creating meaning less threads.

From the minds of Minolta to the imagination of Sony, Alpha, like no other.

Sure. Here is the transcript from Sony's PMA 2007 press conference. In it you will find a section where Mr. Toru Katsumoto, head of the Sony Corporation’s AMC Division in the Digital Imaging Business Group discusses Sony's plans for cameras after the A100. He mentions the camera that became the A700 and a flagship. Both future cameras where shown in mockups and you can see the flagship mockup, labeled as such, on their news and information site.

Now go away.

I've got the a700, it's neat, and if the a900 comes about...I'll definitely upgrade...but I just can't get excited and speculate about vaporware (hardware or software)

A mock-up at PMA does not equal vaporware. Enjoy the fact that you're an idiot.

While I search for the interviews and other information about the A900 coming, I just want to tell you that I will be there at PMA to report on what is going on.

What would be nice is if the same day I am there at PMA you re post this message, and I will reply with a picture of the A900 :)

Will that be enough evidence for ya?

You'll be a little late with the news, because when I go to CES, they'll show me the camera 'under the table'.

Anyway, the OG is correct, as Sony has never said that the camera will be called the A900'. They've only referred to it as the 'Flagship'. Maybe the official name will be 'aFlagship'.

There are soooo many posts about a camera nad speculation...

"it'll be a 20MP, maybe full frame, oh I hope it has EVF...blah blah blah"

lame!!!

Wow ... a whole thread dedicated to letting people know you're above idle speculation. Welcome to Sony SLR talk - we worship at your feet.

Right. And you're the one who started a new thread to belittle what other people choose to talk about. I have more respect for people who choose to spend time guessing about the A900 than who start new threads to criticize how others spend their time.

You said in another thread you hate forums and clubs. Please don't feel like we're holding you hostage here.
