new d80, c&c please..

The first one is good because it appears to be close to the right exposure, and it tells a story. You can see the joy on the people's faces, and the hair in the girl's face shows a sense of movement. It looks like a wedding reception shot and the train behind illustrates a well chosen angle. It looks like people having a good time.

The next one is poorly exposed and the white balance is way in the red, which is typical with underexposed shots. It's so dark, its kind of hard to fix. If you were looking for moody, I would try for a better exposure first, then bring it down with curves and levels in your editor of choice.

The last one is hard to figure out. I zoomed in on it and realized that the top line was the moon. I don't really like that the street lights move into the pyramid. I know what you were trying to do here, but it doesn't work very well. I would suggest pointing the camera straight ahead out the windshield or at a slight angle and shooting in a place with many lights such as a busy highway in the middle of the city at night. That will give you a pretty wild effect. This one though kind of feels flat and just comes off as not being a good photograph.

So I like the first one. You can easily tell that it is a darkened room and people are dancing about, and you can see pretty far into the background. The other ones I don't like so much. But please post again & if I come across it then I'll be just as honest and helpful as I can again.
