I recently came back from vacation and noticed that I shot all the images with my Canon 20 D @ 72dpi and colorspace RGB . Can someone please tell me if it is possible to print an 8 X 10 printer from these images. Sorry for the stupid question, it is not my strong point.
thanks for your help.

Diana,

What really matters when printing is how many pixels you have in the image divided by the size in inches that you want to print. I don't know how many pixels you have in your 20D images, but let's assume that you have a 3000x2000 pixel image. If you wanted to print an 8x10 image (aspect ratio isn't correct to use full image without cropping, you would have 2000 pixels across the 8" dimension, which would give you an effective resolution of 2000/8 or 250 pixels/inch. 250 ppi should give a decent looking print, although you probably wouldn't want to go much below 250 ppi.

If I understand you correctly, you had your camera Image Quality set on Small
Fine or Small Normal which would be in the neighborhood of 2 mega pixels. If
that is the case, I would expect a 5x7 print would be max and maybe only a
4x6 print. I assume you set this accidentally??

Ignore the 72ppi tag on your image,it is a default setting and means nothing untill the image is actually printed.Read Bobs post If you open your image in a photo editing programme you can reset the ppi to anything you wish, just make sure that "resample" is NOT ticked. This will then show you what the actual print size will be at any given ppi,
