Hello Sony H9 people

I have got my H9 back from Sony after a repair job. All my settings are now back to the default. A few months back there were many comments on here regarding which settings people were getting the best results with.

So, what is your opinion ? 8MP or 5MP (or 3:2) ? What about contrast / sharpness levels ? And is anyone experienced with long exposure shots ? Can anyone tell me whether switching off steadyshot would improve my results here ?

Thanking you in advance...

The H9 series whitepaper located at the link below is where you should start. In addition to that, I use +1 sharpness and DR for contrast and auto WB. I only use 8MP. I see no real difference or benefit to 5MP or 3:2. The 8MP file sizes are only around 2.5meg and give me the same detail and I'm very happy with the quality of the pictures but I only take pictures in manual mode though.

I have not tried turning off steadyshot completely for long exposures. I will test it this weekend though. I usually have mine set to "shoot only" which means it is only enabled when I have the shutter half way pressed. This saves battery life as it isn't trying to keep the image stabilized when I'm not taking a picture.
