Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR Light Grey

B&H has listed this as out of stock for as far as I've known. Has anyone actually ordered and received one recently?

I'm thinking about switching to Nikon, but the light grey lens is the dealmaker/dealbreaker for me =P

that is just ridiculous. why does lens colour matter to you? If you
need grey lenses, stick with Canon.
The white paint makes the optics sharper. Duh.

Apparently you haven't hung around Canon lens forum much, these are the kind of things that separate the best from the rest!

=P

Ok good! I see I'm not the only one who thinks this is a bit of a needless question. Ok, white doesn't attract heat as much...then go shoot Canon if you think you will be shooting photographs in the solar atmosphere! lol

You guys must have too much time on your hands. I can't believe a simple question would attract such mindless answers. If I want a light grey lens that’s my business, it has nothing to do with Canon. I guess I should apologize for having two new grey Hondas.

Hey,

I think these look really cool myself. In terms of what I've seen/heard I believe that your local shop can order you one through nikon. They have to do it as a special order and order MFR part NAS 2140. That's how it is listed on the description still in the PDF on the website.

Good luck and let us know,

Bill

It all depends if you care about usa warranty. If not you can always order one online. check ebay. there is a seller who always has the grey market ones. Also, I would email this guy in this dpreview thread: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=2&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.dpreview.com%2Fforums%2Fread.asp%3Fforum%3D1030%26message%3D25001280&ei=6wILR7yVJoKceZ-J0LQF&usg=AFQjCNGiam8zTjeiJbbRpv9nrVovPcmu6A&sig2=iTADDLe0EDqFJSjUX0d4gA
