I'm flying for the first time with my camera, digital wallet, and other gear. Is it ok to put compact flash cards and or the digital wallet through the airport scanners?

From all the comments and observations I've read on these forums, you should have no problems at all, film however is another matter, I have had problems with it being damaged, despite the "film safe" scanners.

I'll add one more thing and it appears to be very airport dependent and that is not to carry that many AA's in your carry on. I use the LowePro D-Res 6 that carries eight AAs.

In Toronto, I received a stern warning that the next time I carry more than 4 AA's they would confiscate. That was not counting the sets I had in the E10 and FL-40.

In SanFran they let me through with no problem. In Dallas only 4.

I've read of others having them confiscated.

Take care,
Leighton

Now what is the reasoning for this? You wire the batteries up in a circuit so they explode themselves or something?

Next to everything needs/uses batteries.

To me it is the number imposed.

I have a DC and 2 flashes. If I have 3 sets for everything that is

(3 X 4) + (3 X 4) + (3 X 2) = 12 + 12 + 6 = 30

What am I going to do? Throw them. I do not see their logic and would agrue to see the regulations defining the maximum number of batteries allowed.

Probably before doing that, I would take just an extra set each and pack the rest. and make sure to put them in good plastic bags to prevent leaking if something should happen.

Thanks,
