I think its a great shot.

The people on the bridge offer a great perspective of how big the fall actually is.

The color is good and I like the texture of the water. Even at a high shutter speed it gets a little "silky" with that much moving water.

Very Nice exposure.
Wish we could see the falls from the top.
Still it is a very nice photo.
What do you think of recomposing this
just using the lower half of the photo so just
the lower falls is showing with just a bit of the
upper falls at the top?
Just a thought.
Thank you for sharing...

  • but them I'm easily pleased :)
Kidding - great photo and I'd be proud to have taken it. It deserves to be printed and on the wall.

I agree with RichA that given you weren't able to get the very top of the fall in the photo, you could probably crop a little at the top because what is there doesn't add much. Beyond that, I can't say I'd be able to improve on it at all.

I was going to say "the subject is too centred" but the bridge almost requires centering and the log at the bottom offsets just nicely. So the photo works very well.

I like the landscape version too. Good example of two different, equally great views of the same subject.

My reply may be heretical, but here goes. This is a popular shot, one I've seen many times. To my mind, I would prefer either to make a super superb version, you know, absolutely perfect light, exposure, composition, etc; or to make a totally different shot of that familiar spot. This particular shot shows the remarkable place well enough, but some of the versions I've seen have had much better light. You might consider a composite shot, as has been suggested, or try for better light, perhaps during the "Golden Hours" just around dawn or dusk.
