Hi guys - anyone had any experience of this problem with the V7 ?

It has jsut suddelny happened, working fine one day then this happens every time you slide the lens cover to turn it on. You can get around it either

Googled the problem and it seems to be a common problem with V7 and looks like it needs to go back to Casio

just wondered if anyone knew a way to sort it out myself ???

TIA

I'd say just send it back to Casio, or where you brought it from if its still under warranty. Casio's Customer Service department aint too bad. As for their quality control....

I'm sorry to hear about your V7's apparent malfunction. Out of curiosity, may I know around how many pictures/videos you took before this happened? From the sequential file number on my V7, I have a little under 4000 so far. Thanks.

Same thing happened to mine, I send it to Casio's repair center, and they only charged me a shipping cost. How nice. It worked for a while, then it's started happen again for no apparent reason. It was in the middle of my travel, so I can't have it fixed again. So, I tried gently tap on the camera body a few times, and it started working again. It then went on and off a few times, but I got it working by tapping the camera. I found it works better when use your finger nail, instead of the finger tip. Now I kinda wonder what kind of repair they performed on mine ...

That mean that you have to go to the Casio service. My camera did the same and Casio repaired (change lens system) for free under waranty. They told me that the lens system is sensitive to shocks, so yours might had an bump before the message. My camera could play photos stored but could not shoot

Thanks everyone - ended up sending it back and Casio were great and sent me a new one very quickly.

Guess what though, had the new V7 for just 4 days and my daughter dropped it and now the lcd cscreen is knackered !!!!

The camera still works fine but you cant see what youre shooting or play photos back to see what you got !!!

anyone got a spare lcd screen :-)

Hey, thanks jedi1118! I tried your trick and it worked perfectly. I had tried my own tricks but to no avail. Using your suggestion, first tap and turn on did not work but second tap (opposite side of the camera this time) and turn on did. I'm stoked! Thanks! Bothered to register with this site to express my appreciation. -P
