Lightroom or Capture NX?

I am a noobie and was wondering what your thoughts are. My computer keeps locking up when I run Lightroom. is this common?

It is not common if you have the hardware to run it. You need 2GB of RAM and a fairly fast processor.

To your question, I don't really see Capture NX and Lightroom as competing products. Lightroom is really a complete work-flow program for organizing, adjusting, printing, making web galleries, etc.
