I got a couple of useful comments on my first ever portrait shoot - find that here:

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1025&message=24431714

I took a couple of these onboard and would appreciate comments on how to improve these:

For the majority of these I stood a lot higher and I certainly made sure that all of my light sources were coming from above. The room was tiny, so I didn't have much space. I believe that my 2 major problems are hiding the props (the chair) and lighting the eyes. All comments much appreciated :)

I like the lighting but the white balance looks off to me.

Your are trying.

You mention limited space.

This together with small light sources is probably the greatest frustrations.

Many of us went through this, then finally we took the plunge.

I see not much that couldn't be helped by more space and big soft light sources.

pre set your WB before you start shooting

a cheap grey card will help you set it

other wise you have some nice shots

The wb needs improvement. You can see this the most with the teddy bear. Practice makes perfect :) Good job

Do you think people are this red in real?

Where is the little guy's hair?

It would be interesting to hear your answer first?
