Using Adobe CS3, Lightroom or Qimage, I need to print a borderless 12x12 photo on plain white cardstock using my Canon i9900. After one hour of trial and error I still can not print borderless using 12x12 paper.

Using custom paper size works except for small white border that I just can't eliminate. Printer drive does not allow borderless when using custom paper size.
Any ideas?

Newbie, having fun.

Hi,

Custom borderless printing is not an option on the i9900 (or any printer except for the HP B9180 for that matter).

You will always have at least a small border unless you oversize the paper and then trim it down. Hopefully one day soon Epson and Canon will unlock the custom borderless features in their machines.

If you purchase 13x19 paper you have the ability to print a full 12x12 and then trim the excess off. You'll likely not be able to find 13x19 cardstock locally but it's easy to get on the Internet - you can also go for paper that's designed for inkjet printing which gives better color and blacks and most inkjet papers come in 13x19.

If you are doing really a lot of them you could print a hundred or so and then have Alphagraphics (or similar) trim them down with a big paper cutter - doing that would require 1/4 inch bleed on all 4 sides.
