Olympus has today unveild E-3 in Korea.

Because that meant the mode could not be stored in the custom resets, and I WANT to store the mode in the custom resets.

I have two main modes, one of which is
M
AE Bracket 3 stops +- 1 stop
SAF+M
f8 125th
ISO100

And the other of which is yer bog stock aperture priority.

I dislike having to waste time setting the mode wheel.

Perhaps the E-3, like the E-400, won't even make it here!

Just joking! :)

how about a led that blinks after a shot is taken? "writing on card"

or maybe a CF busy light

I'll admit that makes sense.
And I don't see another indicator anywhere else on the back.

But it sure does look identical to the SSWF. Which may mean that the SSWF is not a button but just an indicator light.

From the location it could be some kind of indicator for the IS

@$1200 this thing will sell like hot cakes. just a tad lower than the 40D with all the bells and whistles - a similar tactic to the lower end pricing - which we all know was very succesfull...
On that note I bet the portrait grip is very expensive.

If the body is only $1200 THAT seems cheap.
It certainly looks taller but the grip itself looks to be of moderate
size. I was just hoping it would not be huge and it's certainly not
that.
I wonder how much that grip is going to retail for. The grip for the
E-1 was not cheap.

That you can close the LCD with the screen to the inside.

Good protection and it may make it harder for me to chimp, just maybe, breaking me of that habit";^)

I haven't seen any suggestion of price anywhere that could be construed as legit.

I was thinking that maybe a small button so that it could be activated multiple times. But of course all you have to do is turn the camera off and on again.

It makes perfect sense that it's just a light. This is good machine-human interface not to mention good psychology. There have been complaints or observations that the startup time was longer than other cameras. This, of course, was the SSWF cleaning the sensor, but you couldn't see or hear that. It was just slower at startup as far as the user was concerned.

Now with a light, it will remind you of what is going on. Thus the user won't mind the startup time as he/she will see what's going on. Thus psychological satisfaction with the product.

It might also be there because there is a menu option to skip the SSWF at startup and the lack of a light will warn the user that he/she turned that off at a previous time.
