I tried to get a full moon shot the other night and just got a ball of white with a halo. Any pointers on settings??

Pete is right on however, I would try to stay with iso of 100 to minimize any graininess. By cutting the iso to 100, you could use a shutter speed of about 1/400. Try shooting at several f-stops and shutter speeds. You'll get one that will please you.

Tripod, AF Spot, IS Off, f8 then adjust speed or 1/800 and adjust f stop.

I also got better result using a yellow filter and putting the UZ in B&W mode.... Stick to ISO 100 and use SHQ.

Sometimes clouds provide an interesting filter too...

You can see some of my other moon shots here:

Handheld works too but f3.5 1/250+ depending on time of day and brightness of the moon...AF to Spot...MF to infinity, IS on, SHQ.

I use the timer in both cases or take a sequence....I have yet to experiment with the bracketing.
