Hi

I'm looking to buy canon 24 105 f4 is lens, but not sure which filter to buy it with. I'm looking for either polarizing one or uv or one that would protect as well work with my rebel xt
Thanks

I haven't figured out in my head how to use a circular polarizer with the canon lens hood. My only guess is to get an aftermarket 77mm threaded hood that you can screw into the polarizer and rotate it using the hood. If you do decide to get a polarizer expect to pay between 100-200 dollars on a good one. Don't put a cheap piece of trash infront of all that beautiful Canon Glass.

Current setup (changes often)
Rebel XTI
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS

Neither have I.

A word of caution: At least Hoya's cirdular polarizers are obviously not intended to screw heavy things onto. I once broke a perfectly good CP filter by lazily attaching the ring flash adapter plus ring flash onto it. I won't repeat this mistake, and I don't want another photog to do it, either.

What I do? I use my left hand as impromptu hood, when needed. Most of the time it isn't, though.

My perfect set up would be:
EF-S 10-22
24-104L IS
70-200 2.8 IS

That covers everything, portraits with the long lens, the 24-105 as a walk around lens, and my ultra wide. Unfortunately I currently only have the 10-22, so I am a good coupel of thousand away from this setup
