infrared camera shake

I've been tring to take some infrared pix with a red filter and noticed that most of them are rather blurry from camera shake. I took them on a slik tripod with the legs fully extended. The exposure is appox 1sec. Any ideas what can cause this. I think it's the tripod but not sure.

Depending on your camera model try using a delay (2 or 10 seconds) when pressing the shutter. This will allow the tripod to settle down if fully extended.

if using a tripod, make sure IS is off or it will try and compensae for movement that is not happening.
