Funny...I had prayed for rain as I had been wanting to do the rain shot for the last month but now have to wait until october...life is funny...one seems to want what one does not possesses...ironic!We've had 3 consecutive days of solid dawn till dusk rain. Global
warming isn't as good as they claim...
:-(
--I got several this week end but will start with this infrared
handheld shot of the Church of Saint Teresa of Avila in Bodega Bay
with sd14 + 20mm EX + b+w093 (RG830) + voightlander view finder for
composing...using only red channel iso100 f5.6 1/160s.

thanks spm, I just need more... time... I like to look at them on
flickr, since it's one price with unlimited upload MBs. I then
intend to move some of the better to pbase, to my galleries and a
few best of the best to the group gallery...but I just haven't had
time...
I still tend to keep the SDx in P mode, especially when I'm with my
husband who is waiting patiently for me to finish. Usually he
doesn't take photos, though he did on the Stovepipe Wells dunes and
Valley of Fire with the x530. So I always feel pressed for time
with him. (Hillwood was fun, Nick's reaction was, "Welcome to
Fantasy Island" ie viewing the French garden, the Japanese Garden,
the lawns, arbors, walks and parterres. Lots of chairs everywhere,
so visitors can feel like Lord/Lady of the Estate.)
I often will change the aperture, not by setting on A, but (while
in P mode) twisting the dial for an aperture I prefer. I notice
that the SD14 records this in EXIF as a P mode shot, though there
IS some selection of F/ stop by photographer involved.
I want to ask too about your workflow and how you backup/store. I'm
at a crisis with my Sony laptop, it is groaning at the seams.
Saturday's photos took the hard drive under 1GB free! I have one
250GB external drive. I'm thinking about getting a second and
double recording all, keeping the SDx files for the most part off
the laptop.
So I've spent much time recently messing around with drives and
Photoshop Elements v5, which changes my workflow if I don't process
in SPP3! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as to how
you handle your undoubtedly copious photo collections --
Loved your Anteloupe Canyon shots and all your other recent travels
online.
Best regards, Sandy
