Here are the results of votes cast for the entries to Challenge 6: Stone* at the Root.

Congratulations to Tim Ashley for taking the top spot in the Competition Gallery and to CharlesG for his first place in Exhibition. Very impressive showing by euston, placing in the top five twice in each gallery, including both number two spots. CharlesG also took third in Competition; and your moderator for this Challenge was voted fourth in Competition and third and fourth in Exhibition. I personally would have liked to have seen more than four names in those ten positions; but that’s something dependent upon factors beyond my control.

Thank you to all who participated, either as entrants or voters or simply as curious viewers (though I encourage the simply curious to vote next time).

I’m looking forward to what Tim will devise for Challenge 7.

The tabulations for the first five positions in each Gallery follow. I will be rearranging the Galleries shortly.

Thanks again, everyone,

Phil

Cogratulation to Tim and Euston, and of course to Phil for his great shots ; and many thanks go to you too for everything.

It was a real pleasure for me to be side by side with some truely great pictures.
Looking forward for challenge 7,
best regards to all,
Charles

Congrats to us all, small club that we currently are! And special thanks to our host and moderator who has done a fine job in the face of an uphill struggle. As I am about to be reminded, it is harder work than it sometimes appears...

I'll post a new theme soon: some ideas are bubbling around. But I am proposing to ditch the anonymity thing and to open up the Exhibition Gallery to any shot taken on any camera at any time.

Watch this space...
Best to all

Tim

Congratters Tashers! Very nice winning photo and bang on theme. It got my vote, which, as it turned out, was not an altogether wise move.

Well done, Phil, for pulling it all together and congratulations to everyone who entered!

Thanks m8y,

I was going to make the new theme 'druids at Stonehenge at dawn on the Summer Solstice' cos I happen to be going there tomorrow to shoot that event but hey, I'm planning on being more inclusive.

How about 'druids and hippies.... etc?

;-)

Congratulations to Tim and Charles for their fine pictures.
And thank you Phil, I reckon you had to keep pushing us for the votes !

BTW I knew that 'stony faced' was Tim's ! I recognized immediately his fingerprint and not to mention his 75c !

All the best.

Uh ohh, I'm getting predictable!

Those statues were sculpted by a friend of mine - he and his brother both had muscular dystrophy and both died within a two weeks of each other last year, so I had a bit of an emotional history with the subject matter.

Hi all,

Congratulations to Tim and Charles. Well done!

Thanks to Phil for an engaging topic and for moderating the voting.

I can't wait to see what subject Tim comes up with for the next one.

Best regards,

Bob

Quite a story Tim, I find you a brave man to enter the challenge with a picture of his sculptures and I feel you couldn't have honoured him more.

Thanks for your encouragement Bart. This forum has been very nice to me so far; I hope it will continue so! :-))

Thank you Bob! You are absolutely right to aknowlege all the efforts Phil is making for this forum.
Best,
Charles

Well done guys. I havn't been entering lately due to work commitments which have made it difficult for me to "focus" on the Challenge propositions. I have been viewing and voting however.

And Euston! I voted for you in both Galleries! And what's more I only cast the minimum 4 votes in each for you!

Well done to all and thanks to the organiser.

That was very generous of you, Paul. You're clearly a man of taste and discernment. Also a cricket lover, possibly? But I think Tim's lovely study of the stone faces had a touch of class that set it apart.

Have fun and mind how you go with the henge huggers! I hope you plan to show us the photos. Can't wait to see them.
