Hmmmmmmm? H9 may not be for Pixel Peeping, however for the average shooter

i.e below as a quick point and shoot or a bit more techie...i.e. the "Fireworks" shots below and MANY others submitted on this forum, the H9 rocks and has a GREAT 3" LCD with a large 15X zoom as well!

You ought to have one to love/hate it.

I didn't like it though.
To be honest, the H9 looks pretty good to me, not tried one, maybe
we are expecting too much, but 99% of the people who buy one will
probably be very pleased

Its Ok...I will stick with my A100 with the 18-200 lens (theres £200 difference, but I think its worth it), what I mean is most average consumers will probably like it...but I would probably feel the same way as you.....there are no significant issues with the A100 as far as I can see

I do have one!!! I used to be a professional photographer and I shot quality photographs. @ISO 100 shots w/H9 at full frame and process to maybe 8X (key is get the right shot out the gate...and Not crop) I find the camera fast, fun...oh, and did I say FUN, with features that surpass many digi's and I have a D40 if I wish to go to the gym when hiking and shooting at simular zoom ranges.
Just IMO

My conclusion, after looking at the alternatives, taking lots of pictures, pixel-peeping many of them, is...

I'd love a bit more IQ...but I'm not willing to carry a DSLR and two lenes (or to spend the $$$s right now either)...

I love the big tilting LCD...the macro ability...the color rendition...the accuracy of the exposures...the way the camera handles in general...the relatively wide wide angle end (which, despite comments to the contrary is just fine for casual photography)...

There doesn't seem to be anything out there that combines all the features I want...and certainly nothing that I have seen that provides significantly better IQ...enough better so you can see it in a 800x600 web image, or in an 8x12 enlargement for that matter.

So I am going to stop pixel peeping (which is known to induce a state of continual petulance...evidence of which has been abundant in the H9 threads on this forum)...

and I am going to take a lot of pictures, enjoying what the H9 does well.

Of course, at the same time, I am going to hope and pray that Sony sees fit to release a firmware fix sometime in the near future!

Finally, I am going to accept the fact that there is nothing much I can do make that happen.

Take pictures. Be happy.

I ask in one of your other threads but never got a reply: with that name (checkursix) I am wondering what you fly/flew?
