EF 50 f/1.8 lens

I always think this lens is a terrible beast to tame. Almost always never get it right. Can someone show me your best and sharpest shot with this lens wide open?

This was taken wide open. Guess I got lucky with this shot. Shot RAW, sharpened and converted by DPP. No other PP.

This was taken wide open. Guess I got lucky with this shot. Shot
RAW, sharpened and converted by DPP. No other PP.

And yeah, it seems to have a really primitive AF system. Very much a hit and miss deal. But I've got my share of keepers with this little plastic fantastic. I love the color and contrast when you eventually get it right

In my experience, the AF is just really slow - but it's accurate when it gets there. I rarely have any luck with subjects in motion (when it's wide open) but usually do alright with things that are perfectly still.
