He's growing up fast. In just a few days he'll be four and to see how he's changed in the thousands of pics I have is something that keeps me entertained for hours.

We had fun today and ended a day with some pics. Nothing fancy and they had some exposure issues, but not bad for dusk shots with nothing but my trusty and still top favorite cameras, Sony's 717. I'll print them and tweak them again further I'm sure.

The hard part is remembering the different characteristics of each camera and how they handle.

Thanks for viewing.

Tim; I love the CS2 PP. I would like to know what & how you got the lighting right on. Oh; that 717 could not do a better job. Portraits are a big challenge for me, and it's all with the lighting. The best ones I've done were all using sun light when the sun was low to the horizon. Also

shooting with out a good back drop does make extractions work. So your portraits really stand out to me. And "YES" he looks like a lady heart breaker in the making.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Regarding the lighting....I still think they could be PP better. I used a multitude of actions to help even these out. Here's a link to comparisons of the originals from the camera and what I have here:

I perhaps need to tone down the sharpening of my web posted pics. I tend NOT to sharpen except for posting to the web since I allow Qimage to do that.

I also warm up pics more than some prefer, but that's just me I suppose. I like warm tones.

Exposure wise, I like to use either iNova's actions from my 717 book. I also use many of the actions that come from Noel Carboni's DSLR tools. He did a great jobs on these actions for my 10D but I use them with images from all cameras with great success.

Fred Miranda has a number that I use too. I like his Shadow lift actions and exposure ones too.

Filter wise I like iCorrect Professional for both contrast and color corrections.

Hope the above helps. Sorry it's not a step by step clear process. I really do use several based on what I am starting with.

They bring back memories. My "boys" are 27 and 29 this year.

Thanks for sharing those fine photos.

C&C always welcome. PP and repost OK.

I have no affiliation with Noel, but he has a great set of tools that work well with more than just DSLR's. I use them shots from just about any camera with great success. Best value in PP updates you'll find....and they work great.
