Hello Hello.

My replacement 30mm 1.4 Sigma is far better than my original one.

In this example it focused on my eye with no problem and with all test shots (about 8). Might be a bit of a cliche self-portrait, but nevermind that.
C&C welcome.

I did some Ps CS3 editing (B&W varied-channel layers and Gaussian Blurring mainly).

Not sure if I like the crop as much as I originally did, with all the space on the left leaving more to be desired. What do you think?

Sigma 150mm macro
Sigma 8mm Fisheye or 10.5 Fisheye-Nikkor
Sigma 10-20mm

Composition is fine, You just have to mirror the image so you can read Nikon ;-)
You may have to crop it differently then.

Life is like a box of choclates, gone before you know it.

It is discernible, though. ;]

Thanks for comments.

I am expecting this lens any day now- what is the best way to check for this front focusing problem?

There is another thread around here with the Sigma 30's model name in the title. If the search doesn't work, check my recent posts. There's a link to focus test. Be careful though, if you 'pixel peep' too much, you may go crazy. ;]

The best way to test it is by focusing on a person's eye, and if the photo shows focus on the nose, then you know. Shoot wide open when you try it.
