Cannot get this to work. Have Olympus card

. When I stitch them together they join but don't blend. Just repeating the similar elements. When I try autostitch it tells me the pictures were not taken in Parnorama mode even though I have each pictures with a P and number. What am I doing wrong? Aside from using Olympus Master 2 which is the worst version yet.
Thanks--

I can't believe Autostitch "said" that. You don't have to take photos in pan mode. Just blaze away with a little overlap. Autostitch will take on uneven, sloppy panoramas just as long as there is overlap. You can dump a whole bunch of photos in the program and let it figure out where they go--up, down and sideways. Most of the OTFers who have shot panos use Autostitch and I never head of anyone having trouble.

Hi: Are the pictures you are trying to stitch on your smugmug and
if so what numbers? Maybe we can see something of why autostitch
is giving you a bad time.

CC
Thanks for your interest. I have downloaded the pictures to smugmum in the Electronics folder second page P4050005.JPG through 11. I next tried downlloading through my computer and my Camerdia Master (not Master2) and it did better but still some overlap. I find Panorama difficult at times, and this may be one of them what with the new camera and new software. Greetings from a Canadian, American, Brit living in Greece (one person). Have enjoyed your post over the past few years.

Hi James:

The numbers you gave me I believe are from your camera so I had to figure out they were Pages 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29. I saved them to my hard drive and then used autostitch without any problems.

Posted it at a larger size.

In autostitch I go to Edit, Options and set the Output Size to Scale at 100%. Then go to file and find the files you want in the pano.

Hope something I've written will help you to solve this. If not please let us know.

And you are a Canadian?

I hadn't thought of doing what CC did . . . 100% on size. I usually go with 6,000 pixels for the width. Then system memory goes to 1 gig. And it is important to put JPEG quality at 100%.

not the separate program "Autostitch" right?

That would make for the confusion. There is a separate program called Autostitch that CC & others use to make panos. It doesn't 'care' how the photos are taken - but Panorama Oly Master 2 DOES, by design. I don't use the Oly software, and have only played around with Autostitch so don't know why it's not working for you.

you can download a working copy of Autostitch on the web - sorry i don't have a link for you so you'll have to search for it. Should come up #1 or 2 in the list though -it's quite popular.

good luck!

thought I'd try the same images using Panavue for some quick practice.

Just noticed the slight differences in content between my attempt and CC's. Interesting how the person is in a different location and the left side is extended.

And now you have learned why most of us do not use the Camedia Olympus programs for stitching our pano shots. It's not you, it's the program that is lacking. Glad to see you have found Autostitch it's a great program. So I'd just forget about the Olympus Master2....

Yes. I too tried using the software to stitch a pano once and was greatly disappointed. Previously, I have always used Panoramic Factory by Smoky City. But for my last one I simply used Photoshop. However, that said I do like the Panoramic setting as it keeps all the photos aperture and shutter speed settings the same without my having to take the time to set them manually.
