The simple answer is that you create a blank canvas, and simply move your resized jpegs into that canvas. I think there would be resizing involved with the jpegs, usually needing to be the same size, and having a canvas that will accomodate those sizes. I'm sure there are some wonderful tutorials out there which will explain it much better than one could do in a forum thread. But that's it in a nutshell.

Here we go again, I have my first picture in as 'concentration' and now I see a new entry(PeteH) with my title name meaning,,,, I am going to get kicked off at voting time :(

Thanks in advance,

You can capitalize the 1st "C", his is not capitalized. Hope this works.

Hi aam123,

I looked closely and mine is with a capitalized C but I thought in the end, is it the word itself and not necessarily the capitalized or not that matters? (I could be wrong, but a few times some others got the boot, over the word)

I'll just go rename mine, but I think there should be some kind of awareness on titles somewhere. (is this a controversy ;) )

Yeah, I wasn't sure it will work, and probably doesn't.

Honestly, it's not fair that you have to re-name your entry since you posted it first. If I were you I'd contact Pete, I'm sure he is not aware of your entry's name.

I'm not sure if having the word capitalized makes a difference but I do know that if one has an asterisk or a number etc and the other doesn't, that will make it different enough for the voting booth to allow both entries. Hope this helps! :-)

In my last login to chat I used a 3G (third generation) mobile network to access the web. It seems they have issues with this technology.

I know this is not very relevant here, but thought I'd add something for discussion for the tech guys around :) Oh, and to put this thread back to the first page too :)

I think we need a new rule to prevent this from happening again. Something along those lines ... "Please check if your intended name of your entry hasn't been used in another photo before uploading your picture".

The second person has to change her/his photo's name, too.

Check out the rest of the forum, it's a great resource for information. Did I mention how great people there are :)

I agree, something should be written or a code (software) that when loading to the voting booth pictures, the first one gets picked :)

the names to see if your title has been replicated. It is easier though when you upload to take a quick glance while in the "edit gallery" mode by just scrolling down and up to easily check the titles. Unfortunately the voting booth is what it is in that it will not upload duplicate titles. And, again unfortunately, everyone has to do their share to keep an eye out, even if it isn't your titled image that has been duplicated. I guess it will just take a group effort all the way around for now.

Sue Anne, you shouldn't have to change your title, although I see you already have. I would be happy to ask Pete to change his title if you don't want to. Or, as someone else said, simply titling your photo something like "Concentration 1" works just fine. Let me know if you would like me to ask Pete to change his title. Sharon

I'd ask folks to be more careful when giving photos one worded titles. Adding a ~ or * or some other character works nicely though

Concentration~~

Looks good :) It's framing for our titles hehe

You really make me
laugh, aam1234:

Every now and then
you come up with
the idea of a new
rule. What do you
need so many rules
for??

Believe me: the few-
er rules, the better
we all live (we are
all adults, aren’t
we?).

All you should ask for,
is people being a little
bit more considerate to
each other (e.g. check-
ing the titles of images
already entered, before
writing one’s own...).

If they don’t, your rule
wouldn’t help either. I
am sure, Pete didn’t do
it on purpose; he just
hadn’t checked the
gallery before.

Careful, you'll have Rod after you for promoting framing! :-)

Sharon,

I already changed the title, not a big deal but I just know in the past, if I wasn't watching, in the end, my photo would be bumped for the voting booth due to duplicate names.

I enjoy the challenges and not want to make a big deal of titles, but know in the last two challenges, two other participates didn't get their pictures entered.

Thanks for hosting and your hard work on all the commenting. :)
Have a good Holiday.
