If you look at the DA 35mm f2.8 Macro Limited on the Roadmap pdf, it looks a lot like the FA 77mm Limited. (double knurled focus ring, same basic shape but without the aperture ring). Close to the 31mm Limited but without the permanently attached sun shade)

Any thoughts on the cost for the 35mm Macro? About the same, slightly less (~$100) or significantly less (> $200) as compared the 31mm Limited?

Less costly due to slower speed 2.8 vs 1.8 and smaller image circle? Any increase in cost for having it as a macro?

Potential buyers want to know.

If we compare the current DA Limiteds with the FA Limiteds, the DA Limiteds has a lower price - mainly because of their slower aperture. This suggests that the DA 35 Limited Macro may have quite a good price, clearly lower than the FA 31 Limited. But, it is a macro and macro lenses are more expensive because they need to be sharp from close distance to infinity (most lenses has best sharpness at infinity). So this raisens the price. On the whole, I believe the price will be in-between todays DA 50 f/2.8 and D FA 100 f/2.8 Macro, and lower than the FA 31 Limited.

When the DA Macro is closer to being released (I believe autumn), then we know more about the price...

I think that it will probably come in around $600 - still a chunk of change, but I just couldn't see any justification to charge almost $900 for a lens with no aperture ring and no FF coverage. Also, while I am sure that it will be deserving of the Limited name, I am skeptical as to whether it will be as good as the 31/1.8.

I would guess it would be about 1/2 the price; as good as they are,
the new Limiteds are not overbuilt like the originals. This isn't
a judgement optically, but physically.
I see no difference in the build quality between my DA21/DA70 lenses and the FA31/FA43/FA77. I've had them all, have the FA43, and there's nothing different about how they feel/the finish/etc.

I suspect the DA35mm Macro Limited will be less expensive than the FA31, however, purely because it is not as complex a lens formula (longer focal length, slower maximum aperture, and optimized to cover a smaller format) and less expensive to manufacture because of that. It should be more expensive than a comparable speed 35mm lens with less range in the focusing mount, however.
