I took these last night in absolutely freezing weather with my K10D. I used a Sigma AF 28-105 lens and tried both iso 100 and 800. At 800 there was some banding, which I think will be fixed with the firmware upgrade. These were long exposures, with a tripod obviously. Tell me what you think.

I like these, but would like them better if you used a bigger
aperature. As you close down, lights become star-like, and in my
view less appealing.
To each his or her own I think. Some people stop down specifically to get those star shaped lights. :-) I like what the OP has come up with here.

Very cool and interesting shots. Nice work capturing the "plume" of whatever is being emitted there.

Not sure I'd call it pretty, though. More like industrial art or something like that. :)

I like them. And hats off to those plants pumping out gasses and who knows what, so that we can finally go without winter here in Texas. Global warming, just in time for my retirement!

So what's the joke in that? I happen to agree with him. But you and I have one thing in common, at least. WE don't have an Oscar, do we?
