Which flash bracket? ( post pics?)

Hi,

I need a flash bracket to use on D30.
The bracket should be high enoough to accomodate D30 body with grip, and St-E2.

I would love to see a picture of your setup.

The best flash bracket is made by Newton. Unless you do a lot of tripod work you want the Di100FR, formerly called the N7200: http://www.newtoncamerabrackets.com/New_Folder/pic7200.htm or the Di100FRVG formerly called the N7200VG. Looking at the above picture the camera mounts with the three oval pads just to the left of the word "included" and your lens passes underneath the center of the top bar. Your flash mounts with an optional piece onto the center of this top bar, then this bar can either stay on top for landscape or for portrait mode can swing down against the vertical bar on the left.

I just happen to have a Di100FR that is like new, used only once, for $60 (I ended up with two, I was in a hurry). They retail for $120.

In addition to this you need to either get a fitting for a flash shoe which I also happen to have if you're going to use a flash with a cord separate from the contacts of the flash or if you're going to use something like the 550EX the Newton 2-102 Canon/Minolta Dedicated Cord Holder plus the cord. These fittings go for about $16.

I use the Stroboframe Quick Flip 350. It accomodates the D30 with battery grip and the STE-2.

It is readily available for about $47. B&H has them:

....Stroboframe Pro-T. I really like it. I also use the optional mounting plate.

I don't know who this ugly mother fu*#!% is holding my camera tough! After you get one you can use this photo to fine tune the position of the flash.
