I have used the Gary Fong diffuser and find it's a bit flat on portraits. I would like the facial highlights to have a bit more snap. I have used a SB800 on a Fuji S3. Should the flash compensation be adjusted up from 0 or should a forward light reflector be modified to fit inside the back of the sphere pointing at the subject?

Thanks

if you want directional light. If you mean harder shadows, then yes, putting a bounce card behind the unit will make the shadows harder. You realize most people don't want to make the shadows harder...

I find that the Lightsphere works well as a fill light. I use Lastolite Ezybox with SB800 for key light and LS on a second SB800 mounted on camera. The combination makes a very useful portable studio setup.

What speedring do you use when using the SB800 with the Ezybox?

give .3 or 1/3 stop expopsure compensation from the camera it should help.
it helped for me

Try going to Hobby Lobby and buying a small piece of silver mylar film (by drafting supplies), Cut a piece and tape it into the back of the LS to punch more light forward.
