[Isola Verde]

Slogged around the Borghese Gardens in a very hot Rome last week and finally found my missing lions - you JUST can see one of them near the centre of this shot:





As was suggested, they were indeed built into one of the layers of the descent down from the Pincio towards Piazza Navona - hidden amongst the parked cars!
