I used a sketcher action by Mike Finn and the Lucis Arts plug-in along with some layer blending on the first image. On the second image are used, the Impressionist filter using the James Brown preset that I uploaded a little over a week ago. I also use the Lucis Arts plug-in and layer blending. Using Photoshop of course.

Download the James Brown preset for the Impressionist filter:
http://www.trimoon.com/Impressionispreset.zip
Once it's installed, it will show up under the category of Pencil Sketch II

Note: The Impressionist filter only works in Photoshop on a PC platform.

Really like this preset, Steve. Thanks for crafting and sharing it.

How did you come up with the brush file .tif? I've tried making a few of these brush files with absolutely zero success.
 
Hi Steve,

I played with your JB setting, but couldn't find a setting for showing the eye and tail stripes in this pic. Any ideas? Or poor choice of pic to use?

Any Birders here that can ID these?

All these are taken thru two panes of window, kitchen or office. I've seen these birds around for years but never up close. They are skittish! Recent snow storms made them get close for food under Russian Olive trees. 14 of them at one time, plus local rabbits and resident squirrel. Haven't seen the birds since taking these pics.

It seems I don't know where to add this mentioned brush to my Impressionist...I also noticed lots of others over in Retouch Pro, but not how to install. Been using this filter forever, now I find there's so much more!!! Yea!
