Daredevil Grand Canyon photographer

Has anyone seen these photos taken of a photographer in the grand canyon this summer? (pardon me if this has already been posted)

Basically, he takes a death defying leap in his sandal WHILE CARRYING A SLR and FULL SIZE TRIPOD!!!

Apparently, There is a ledge underneath.so it's not as dangerous as it looks.
as i'm led to believe

Indeed. It was a craeful bit of cropping just above a ledge. This ledge is often used by photographers for such a shot. Here is the site, complete with ledge:
