Dear Forum,

Today, after going completely insane from seeing my 5000th incredibly detailed and vibrant K10D/Limited image, I finally broke down and went out and got me a K10D, the 21 LE, 31 LE, 43 LE, and DFA 50mm Macro to keep my 77 LE company. Let me know what you think; images in reply.

Those are wonderful lenses. Congratulations. What else could one think?

I love the dog! Great pics from the 31 and the 77 in particular. I wonder how much worse the FA35, FA 50 would have been for the 31LE, 43LE shots respectively.

My itching has increased!

Hi Debo,

Well, the differences are always going to be subtle, but I think there is a subliminal effect that can't be denied.

I agree. With my little experience with the 77, it seems that the 3D effect is prominent only in certain situations. I am a novice but I see the effect only in portraits taken wide open with lots subjects at different distances in the background. Then the bokeh is stunning. For low light portraits, I like my FA50 better as its easier to hand hold. Again, an expert would see things differently.

Given you have all this fortune, if you were allowed only one of those limiteds, which one would that be? This would help lots of people who want to 1 of them.

Now that's an easy choice if money is no object. The size of the 31mm has never bothered me and I really have nothing against its built-in hood. The focal length is super useful on digital, there is nothing in the Pentax lineup that is as fast and wide and there may never be again. And the rendering is just georgeous to my eyes. Bang for your buck, you can't beat the 77. Unless of course you like the 43 or 21. ;-)

Matt

So you're the one that's been buying up all the Limiteds.

Aha! I detect a "Limited" gap between 31 and 43 and another one between 50 and 77. The 40LTD and 70LTD will fill out those 2 yawning pits nicely.

Nice pics.

LOL. I love your insanity and wish I could indulge my to the extent you did in one shot, (+: Oh, and the images are great, but you had a hand in that in a big way, Congrats, you will never regret buying quality.
I just wish I could use more lens at the same time LOL

Thanks, Joe! I dunno - maybe I splurged a bit more than necessary.
They're certainly all good investments, even if I don't make use of
all of them constantly...
I really like all the pictures, the depth, the colors...just wow.
I would certainly want the same line of lenses.

And you will be able to sell them for more than you have paid if you put them on E-bay international. That is if you have second thoughts.
Just yesterday a 40mm limited went for 289,00 euros = 382,00 US$.

I would really like to see some more pictures.

I'm flabbergasted. Pentax owners are supposed to be cheap... right? You must have bought them all on eBay, or in an alley from a guy in a trenchcoat.

Seriously, I think your pictures in this thread demonstrate what these lenses in deserving hands are meant to accomplish.

1. Congratulations on the "over the top" puchase of body and lenses. You're gonna get a lot of forum members salivating...

2. Most of the pictures are quite interesting, and quite illustrative of what those "coke bottles" ({g}) can do...

3. I do have to say, however, that I did not care much for the inclusion of that 43 Ltd image.
