A service centre can replace the shutter assembly quite easily for a couple of hundred dollars.
However, once you have a couple of hundred thousand shots on your body, the rest of the mechanics start to wear as well i.e. the buttons, dials etc all start to show wear including some of the "weather seals".
You can get a CPS tech to refurbish/service them if you want but I usually just sell my bodies after about 2 years or so, most of canon's pro gear still retains a decent resale value even if it has been used extensively.
