... shot some poses on the stairs. Or is it a virtual background? There's too much repetition in the poses and looks of these shots for my tastes. Standing, lying down-- that kind of thing-- in different spots on the set-- would have improved these.

That would have been difficult...

Anyway - I think the shots are, on the whole, quite excellent. As so many have commented, the lighting is spot on. I'd love to know the set up too, and just out of curiosity, what gear/brand are you using?

The model's eye makeup doesn't bother me, and in fact, I think it looks rather nice. That said, it might even look better with less heavy blackness. She's a very beautiful girl, and brings a lot to the shoot.

And the 1DII really does a nice job in the studio - good to see.

At the very begining, I found photography simple: Point the camera and push the button. After several weeks of practice, I discovered I could achieve even better results by turning the camera on and removing the lens cap.
