Couple studio shots (warning lingerie)

Thanks everyone for the nice responses. Appreciate everyone who has looked and that I am really enjoying my 1D Mark II(non-N) alot. Will wait and get another one when people start going after the other new ones.

...And no wonder why your wife is the one shooting, and not you... 8-)))

Excellent, as usual, and getting better, and better, every day...

...The model has a certain "chunky", or "beefy" look, but yet very attractive and good-looking under those lights... The lights really impressed me (how evenly spread, and well balanced, in relation to the background, as well as the brightness of the whites...)

Keep'em coming!

Thanks PIXS...much appreciated. :)

First of all, beautiful shots! Shows how the judicious use of props can really make a 'normal' shot that much more interesting.

I'm curious about the lighting setup you used. I'm guessing at a key light in a large softbox to the photographer's left, and fill in a beauty dish to the photogrpher's right and behind the model? Is this right?

Just trying to get my bearings (had to study the images closely! ;) )

Don't anthropomorphize digital cameras. They don't like it.

I'd look for a new make up artist. Her eyes which are already small were made even smaller by the heavy "blackness" used top/bottom/lashes/etc..

Personally I have problems finding a good MUA but when I do I'll do whatever reasonable to keep them. Here in Bangkok the katoeys (lady boys, men who look like ladies.. often to the smallest detail(s)) are the preferred choice for MUA's but I find them using styles that make the make up stand out vs. blending.

I think your muslin background was nicely integrated and the props enhanced the bg perfectly.

These photos are beautiful and you should be very glad you have a wife to pose for you like that. Most model photographers would love to have a built in model like that. Great photos and very tastefully done.

Only after you said it was muslin, did I look close enough to notice. Now I see that the railing has a wrinkle in it. I guess for something like this, it helps to pull the cloth taut.

Lovely lighting. Lovely lady. I do agree with another poster that the eye makeup lacks sophistication.

When I ask which Canon lenses are best,
people tell me to 'go to L.'

...I would have surely viewed your post without that warning, but, having been warned, I skipped quickly by without even opening it, or pausing to take a peek.

Hi Dooglla,

Great photos and lovely lighting. Which lens or lenses did your wife use on this shoot?

Thanks

John

These are quite nice but for future shoots I'd recommend getting your primary lights up higher and behind the model.

The use of hair and backlighting really is essential to lift a model out into the space.
