Canon G2 Out of Stock Everywhere?

In general, I don't buy expensive stuff from companies I personally haven't heard of. It's probably overkill, but it's safer. I think I've only ever bought camera equipment from B & H.

They have spectacular service, great prices and you can talk with a
reasonable honest human being.

I called them this morning. They don't have any G2's & don't know
when they will be in.

Canoga told me they won't be in until February this morning.

I went to gomez.com and they rated Harmony Computers a 3 star.. It's too late Ive already ordered from them at 749 no tax or shipping fee.. So once I submit my 549 claim I will get 200 off and end up paying 549.. If I went with Circuit City at 900 thats too much even with 250 off is a 100 bucks more.. I also got this Zio I think its called Card Reader from B&H.. I just hope since Monday is a holiday it comes by the end of the week.. Then I can go case shopping here in town.. I will later on when I have more money get the 256 flash for 85 bucks at newegg. But any other comments on Harmony Computers would be appreciated.. I know someone just said they had no problems with them so I feel a bit better now.. Thanks Everyone, Rose

I just got my AMEX card.. Almost everyone is out of the G2.. I
found it at Harmony Computers and I called them and its in stock
with free ground shipping.. I think the price was 739 or 759 I
forget.. They are anm authorized dealer and are in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Canoga isn't open now and I don't want to wait till the end of the
week.. I want to order now.. Anyone heard of Harmonyor ordered
from them? Canon directly told me its ok there an authorized
dealer so I guess I will give it a shot and call them back.. Just
thought I would wait an hour or so and see If anyone has anything

Update,,, I just got off the phone with Harmony and they said they shipped it out Friday and gave me a Fed X tracking number. I pulled it up and its on the truck for delivery to my house today. Not bad, ordered on Wed., shipped Friday, and getting it today. $759.00 with free shipping and it is advertised as a US camera with US warranty. and as Rose said, she checked with Canon and they are an authorized dealer. Will let you know if everything is ok with delivery.

-- a really faulty camera IMHO. Now I'd like to get a Canon G2 at

Well last Wed. Jan. 16th I ordered my G2 from Harmany Computers for $759 with free ground shipping. There ad showed back ordered for about 2 weeks. Wed. it showed they were in stock so I placed an order with the free shipping. It shipped out Friday and I got it today. To me taking in account of the weekend thats overnight FedX. It also has a US warranty.

The price is great, but it isn't great for us Californians It says that Californians have to pay tax, which is around $54! Do you think Greg would be willing to let the tax slide? Oh well. I've noticed in the past few days the price of the G2 in the sites mentioned increased.

Greg at Canoga Cameras is getting them at the end of this week. I
just ordered one from him. He gave me great service, a great price
and has earned my trust. I thouroughly recommend giving him a
call. It's worth 4 days wait in my honest opinion...

I consider them sleazier than the typical sleazy. Lie, swindle, lack of respect, etc. I did recieve my equipment, but I do not want to give them the satisfaction of ordering from them again.

Abes of Maine has 'em in stock for $778. A little higher than the
$750 that seems to be the standard LOW from reputible dealers, but
maybe they'll price match!

I thought Abe's was in New York, or are they in New Jersey??

I know they don't have a great reputation & I'm somewhat hesitant
to buy from them.

You may want to give them a call as they told me I would get a email with the tracking # but I never did. Got it last night and still no tracking #. Good thing I called and got it over the phone.

Rose, I bought my G2 from Harmony Computers. Used their phone number and talked to a real person. Got it for $759. Free shipping. US warranty and all the parts. A good experience. I ordered it Jan 3 and received it Jan 9. I got FedEx tracking number and followed its progress to me. I love the camera. Still have a lot to learn, but have been getting great shots from day 1.

My camera came Friday via UPS from Harmony computers.. I had no problems with them at all.. It was 759 no tax or shipping fee.. I am mailing in the AMEX price match tomorrow. I have to copy my receipt at work.. Guess I could scan the stuff and fax it from home but I would rather just mail it all and make sure they get it or maybe I will do both.. But I have a claim number already from AMEX.. Now i just need to play around with the camera some more and read the manual.. Haven't done much with it yet but take afew pics on Auto and viewed them.. Just ordered my G2 from B&H... Yes they have it in stock ($770). I did not get the 5-year warranty (any thoughts?). Guess they have increased the price a tad. Can't wait to get my hands on it... Thx to this forum - i chose G2 over Nikon 885.
