Hello! I am a new in this forum, and I am a begginner..

I got my new FZ50 a couple of days ago.
I am so excited now..

Today, I've been tying to take a picutes of th Moon, but they look like bulbs..

Do I need any filter or technique to take a moonn shot?

Help me please..

Thanks in advance

What do you mean they look like bulbs? Are they just too bright? Are you possibly over-exposing an losing all the detail?

Post a pic if you can, and maybe I or someone lese can help.

Yes! I lost the datail completely.

I set the camera Aperature-prioity, and exposure was proper according to the histogram..

Thanks

Try manual metering and experiment with some combinations. Work with fast shutter speed and wide open lens. You don't care if you underexpose the surrounding sky. If the moon looks like a light bulb, you are overexposing, probably based on one of the automatic metering modes.

No filter is needed at all, just be sure the shutter is reasonably fast (if handheld) and the aperture isn't wide open (small f/number) or closed down all the way (large f/number) to minimize distortion.

I'll make a guess and say for the FZ50 that somewhere between 1/250 and 1/500 shutter at maybe F5.6 aperture might be okay for tonights large full moon.

Someone doing this same thing would know for sure. I tried a quick search for EXIF info from FZ50 cameras doing photos of the moon and only saw FZ30 photos with the EXIF.
