It came w/ the 18/55 mm but it lacks distance. I am learning so wanted the lens for that reason. I am looking to buy another lens...maybe 300 bucks or so....what would u recommend? I heard the 70-200 is could? any thoughts

I would use it for normal distance and sports

I will tell you if you want to learn and not have to buy again as you learn, you should spend the 500ish on a 70-200 f4L. (wait for the rebates) The 70-200 is amazing. And a great lens to learn with and also to use forever. For the Quality check out my web site. Most of those pics are from the 70-200 f4L or the 17-40 f4L. The two lenses I suggest to most everyone to start with. I am now moving on and up but I will never let those two get far from me. I find that you can do almost anything well with them.

Fast AF, top notch IQ, smooth, solid, durable, and its (Pro white) so you can look cool too :)

This all depends on what you intend to shoot though. So think about that and let us know what you shoot so we can try to better advise you.

Do it right the first time upgrading can be expensive. Non L glass does not draw too much money when its sold used.
